Safe cycling
As part of the project “Active Accessibility to Public Passenger Transport”, we revived and upgraded the safe cycle storage, which is located in front of the Grosuplje Railway Station, near the Bus Station. By offering e-bikes for longer rentals and a bike storage room for parking and charging e-bikes, we will promote the use of more environmentally friendly forms of private and public transport.
The aim of the project is to encourage the integration of active mobility – cycling and the use of public passenger transport. The cycle shed will offer eight individual bicycle boxes for secure bicycle parking. Three of the bays in the secure bike storage will be dedicated to the rental and storage of electric bicycles within the project, while five will be available for the parking of other electric or ordinary bicycles.
How will the e-bike rental work?
Users will be able to rent an electric bike for a longer period of time – one month.
The user will be able to use the rented bike, for example, to go from home (presumably Grosuplje and its surroundings) to a safe bike shop, park the bike there and then go on by public transport or as a passenger.
The rental service is regulated by a contract between the user and the Zavodom za turizem in promocijo “Turizem Grosuplje”.
Users will park their bike in the secure bike storage using a free app, which will also allow locking and secure storage. The e-bike will also be rechargeable during storage.

The e-bike and safe bike storage service is organised by the Zavod za turizem in promocijo “Turizem Grosuplje”. Information is available at info@visitgrosuplje.si or 01 786 25 74.
For the duration of the project, from October 2025 to 31 May 2026, the use of the bike shed and the three e-bikes for long term rental will be free of charge for those individuals willing to participate in the implementation of this pilot project.
There is also a free secure bike storage service for other users who want to store their bike safely in the secure bike storage via the KALUU app.
More about the pilot project
The pilot project is being implemented within the framework of the Active2Public Transport (A2PT) project , which is part of the INTERREG Danube Region 2021-2027 programme. The project aims to reduce the carbon footprint and greenhouse gas emissions of transport by supporting a shift to more environmentally friendly modes of transport, in particular walking and cycling in combination with public passenger transport.

HOW TO USE A SAFE BIKE ROOM?
CONDITIONS OF USE OF THE SECURE CYCLE STORAGE
To enter the secure bike storage area on a bicycle, you must first install the corresponding app on your smartphone – KALUU. By entering the bike storage area, you accept the terms of use. The user is considered to be the person who has used the bike room on the day of use. The user must enter and exit with the same access right. The access right is non-transferable.
The KALUU product is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all year round, unless this is not possible due to force majeure, due to the implementation of a planned software update or due to a decision of a competent national or municipal authority. The user may choose any infrastructure within the available sites. Availability is subject to capacity utilisation and the provider cannot guarantee that the selected infrastructure will be available to the user at the time selected.
The maximum permissible continuous time for a single use of the selected infrastructure is 168 hours. Before the expiry of the 168 hours, the user must remove his/her bicycle or scooter and its accessories from the infrastructure.
Users must comply with the road traffic regulations, the instructions for use of the cycle shed, and other signs.
It is compulsory to lock the bicycle inside the bike shed with the outer door of the bike shed. The operator does not accept and is not liable for damages in case of theft or damage to bicycles. Violation of these terms of use (i.e. abuse of the parking right) may result in damage to the operator or the owner of the bike room. The user shall be liable to the KALUU product provider and the operator for the damage caused, in accordance with the general rules of tort law.
The Operator may issue additional notices and warnings in writing and publish them in a prominent place in the bike storage area and on the Operator’s website – these additional notices and warnings shall be deemed to form an integral part of these Terms of Use, as well as the General Terms and Conditions and the KALUU Product Rental Policy. Abuse of the right of access shall mean any conduct contrary to the Terms of Use of the bike storage area, in particular the use of the right of access to prevent or hinder the use of the bike storage area or the export of a bicycle without the use of the App.

In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we would like to inform you that by entering the bike shed area, you consent to the collection and processing of your personal data for the purposes of using the safe bike shed, ensuring the safety of people and property, identifying the offender and the person causing the damage, resolving technical problems, issuing notices and judicial recovery.
