Atop Ostri Vrh, above the village of Čušperk, a majestic Slovenian flag waves proudly. A monument in the form of a truncated pyramid, 1.6 metres high, with a 12-metre flagpole carrying the national flag, stands at an altitude of 675 metres. From the peak, there is a splendid view extending to the Gorjanci hills, the Zasavje highlands, the Savinja Alps, the Kamnik Alps, the Karawanks, and parts of the Julian Alps. On particularly clear days, even Snežnik to the south is visible.
Hikers can park their vehicles at the designated parking area in Čušperk, and the destination is reachable in about an hour’s walk through the forest. The trail is easy and suitable for all age groups. Nearby lies the Stari Grad or Čušperk Castle, which was built in the 12th century. Today, only ruins remain of this historic structure.
